The second season of "Kourtney & Kim Take New York" returned strong on E! this past Sunday with a 1.8 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.19 million viewers. ABC Family renewed its hit drama "Pretty Little Liars" for a third season. The Alloy/ Warner Horizon teen series will return for another 24 episodes on summer 2012. However, fans won't wait that long, as ABC Family will air the second part of second season starting on Monday, January 2 at 8/7c, followed by "The Lying Game".

With a strong lead in AMC's newest drama series "Hell On Wheels" premiered strong on Sunday night with a 1.9 rating and 4.36 million viewers. ABC Family Announces Winter Premiere Dates

ABC Family has revealed its winter schedule, which includes the return of three hit dramas and the premiere of "Jane By Design". "Pretty Little Liars" will return to resume its second season on its new night, Monday, January 2 at 8/7c followed by new episodes of "The Lying Game" at 9/8c. "Switched at Birth" will now anchor Tuesdays, starting on January 3 at 8/7c, with ABC Family's new dramedy "Jane By Desing" airing at 9/8c. New episodes of "The Secret Life Of The American Teenager" and 'Make It Or Break It" will return in spring 2012.

ABC Gives Back 9 to Three Series

ABC has given back 9 orders to three series. The freshmen "Once Upon A Time" and "Last Man Standing" and the sophomore "Happy Endings". Additionally, the network gave a five-episode script order to struggling new drama "Pan Am". "Once Upon A Time" back order was a no-brainer. The fantastical drama was the No 1 drama premiere of the season, with a 4.0 rating in adults 18-49. It also retained 100% of its audience in its second airing. "Last Man Standing" launched succesfully a new comedy night for abc. It premiered with a strong 3.9 rating on early October, but since then it has been falling, with its latest episode delivering a 2.7 rating in young adults. After surviving cancellation last spring, ABC brass' favorite, "Happy Endings" kicked off its second season posting series high in adults 18-49 demo, thanks to its strong lead in. Since then the single camera comedy has slowly grown its audience. This week, it delivered series high again, with a 3.5 rating in adults below 50. After a decent premiere, Pan Am has been bleeding viewers week by week. The 60's drama has stabilized to the 1.8-1.9 range. The scipt order comes after the announcement that Steve Maeda joined the series as a showrunner. Last month, ABC also gave back 9 orders to its freshman hits "Revenge" and "Suburgatory".

Covert Affairs return + Other Cable ratings

USA's "Covert Affairs" returned to complete its second season but the ratings was off 40% to a 1.0 rating ina dults 18-49 and 2.69 million viewers. That's a series low for the CIA-drama but this is the first time that it airs during fall. FX's 'Sons Of Anarchy" topped once again the cable competition with a 1.9 rating in demo and 3.63 million viewers. BET's 'Reed Between The Lines" was stable on the second episode at 10:30pm with a 0.5 rating and 0.96 but earlier at 10pm it fell to a series low 0.4 rating and 0.92 million viewers.

FOX Renews X Factor

FOX has renewed "X Factor" for a second season. While not the mega hit that everybody expected, the Simon Cowell reality series has won every night it's been on the air. X Factor premiered with a 4.4 rating in September and since then it has a pretty stable run, even matching series highs last week. However that's not even close of what American Idol usually does but FOX's president of alternative Mike Darnell seems satisfied. "Picking it up is a complete no-brainer", he said. After the news Simon Cowell added that "I'm so thrilled about the news. I have loved making the show.

CW Announces Midseason Schedule

The CW has announced its midseason line up. After the regular Christmas break originals will return on Thursday, January 5 with CW's most successful duo "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Secret Cirlce. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays stays intact while the final season of "One Tree Hill" will premiere on January 11 and will air every Wednesday at 8pm , followed by the new reality series "Re-Modeled", which will fill the gap between the Top Model cycles. The premiere date for CW's new reality series "The Frame" and the 18th season of "America's Next Top Model" , which will be labeled 'US vs UK", will be announced soon.
