So here's a quick review of the pilots that premiered last week. Remember i didn't sample all the new shows. I'll watch few more later and i have some that i won't at all (like CBS' Unforgettable & Person Of Interest).
Ringer: While i liked the pilot episode, despite the fact that it was so predictable (with the 3-minute preview being so spoiler-ish) the second episode was meh! I see a lot of potential for the show which is far better than the same-themed The Lying Game but i really don't see it lasting.
Grade: B-
The Secret Circle: Its what you expect. A companion show for The Vampired Diaries. Same author, same EP. And it works. I think the cast has chemistry and Phoebe Tonkin is a scene-stealer and probably the best part of the entire show. Clearly we have to wait if this one will become as good as TVD. But i trust Kevin Williamson. The guy knows what he is doing.
Grade: A-
Charlie's Angels: I really don't understand why nobody liked the pilot. In fact i really enjoyed it. Clearly you won't see it getting any awards but its what you expect it to be. A fun show. And it has Minka Kelly too!
Grade: B
The Playboy Club: To be fair i expected more. I found myself checking my blackberry while i was watching it and that's not a good sign at all. But definitely has some potential and there could be a show...somewhere.
Grade: C-
Prime Suspect: A show that has Maria Bello and not using her right. I love her but the first half of the episode was boring and frustraiting. I don't believe what i'm saying but i'd love it to be more prodecural.
Grade: B-
Revenge: Clearly my favorite drama pilot this year. I love almost everything but i'm doubtfull for it longevity.
Grade: A
